Chinese ceramic art, made to be lived with.
AzureBlanc began during our visits to the historic kiln regions of China.
Again and again, we encountered two extremes. Extraordinary porcelain existed behind museum glass or inside private collections, while most pieces available to the wider world felt disconnected from the depth, care, and craftsmanship we saw firsthand in the workshops.
We created AzureBlanc to bridge that distance — to bring authentic Chinese ceramic artistry into contemporary spaces and everyday rituals.
Not as untouchable antiques, but as objects meant to be used, kept, and lived with for years.
Azure and Blanc.
The name reflects two materials and traditions that continue to shape Chinese ceramic history.
Azure speaks to depth, fire, and mineral-rich glazes — from cobalt blue porcelain to the soft blue tones of traditional Ru ware.
Blanc refers to the luminous white porcelain of Dehua, known in Europe as Blanc de Chine, crafted from exceptionally pure kaolin clay.
Together, they represent a balance between strength and restraint, history and modern living.
Made slowly, by hand.
We work directly with artisans and small workshops across Jingdezhen, Dehua, Longquan, Yixing, and Chaozhou.
Many of the techniques used today survive only through decades of practice — hand-carving reticulated porcelain, wood firing, traditional glaze reduction, or painting cobalt blue with brushes fine enough to leave a single uninterrupted line.
These processes take time. We choose them anyway.
Inside the workshop.
Craftsmanship should feel effortless in use.
For us, beauty alone is not enough.
A teapot should pour cleanly. A cup should feel balanced in the hand. A vase should sit naturally within a space and remain functional over years of daily living.
Every piece is selected not only for its appearance, but for the experience of using it.
Objects that become part of a room.
We believe ceramic art should exist beyond display cabinets and auction houses.
A celadon vase beside natural light. A Blanc de Chine sculpture on a quiet shelf. A tea bowl used every morning.
These are objects designed to bring texture, calm, and permanence into contemporary interiors.
Made to be lived with daily.
