Jingdezhen Cobalt Dragon Crackle Yuhuchun Vase

The Yuhuchun silhouette is built from one continuous curve: a flared mouth, slender neck and pear-shaped body that settles into a narrow foot. Here, a cobalt-blue dragon crosses the rounded belly between cloud forms and a dark wave border, while fine crackle runs across the pale ground.

The British Museum holds a Yuan dynasty Jingdezhen yuhuchun ping decorated in underglaze blue with a three-clawed dragon pursuing a flaming pearl among clouds. The present vase carries that centuries-old pairing forward through a larger coiling dragon and an all-over crackle surface.

The rising neck makes the dragon feel more vertical than on the Meiping and wide-mouth versions, while the pear-shaped body keeps the movement fluid. At 30 cm high, the vase reads clearly on a cabinet or entry console and carries the dragon's associations with vitality, authority, and protection in a focused display scale. The fitted wooden stand is included.
