Jingdezhen 'Silk Road' In-Glaze Porcelain Plate

Porcelain is both the material and the subject of this contemporary Jingdezhen plate. Conceived under the title Silk Road, its blue pictorial composition presents ceramic culture as a language carried between East and West.

The central medallion anchors the composition in Jingdezhen, one of eight ceramic centers named in the design alongside Meissen, Limoges, Iznik, Arita, Delft, Hamadan, and Sukhothai.
