The Yuhuchun profile is recognized by its low, rounded body, narrowing neck and flared mouth. On this vase, red, yellow and pale peonies gather low while plum blossoms travel upward, letting the decoration follow the form from base to neck.

Its Chinese name, Fan Hua Si Jin, compares a profusion of flowers to patterned brocade. The idea is carried in three dimensions: petals, leaves and branches are modeled separately and applied to the porcelain body before firing. The result is dense in detail but ordered by the vase's rising silhouette.

Raised botanical decoration has a long connection with the Yuhuchun form. The British Museum documents the Yuan-dynasty Fonthill Vase, now in the National Museum of Ireland, with applied panels of flowering plants including peonies. This Dehua vase continues that historical conversation between pear-shaped form and flowers built in relief.

The relief sets the eye in motion from base to neck: full peonies gather low, plum blossom rises, and the branches lead upward through the narrowing profile. The fitted black stand completes the 40 cm silhouette, making the vase ready for a cabinet or console without requiring a floral arrangement of its own.
