The original example of this olive-shaped vessel is preserved in the Shanghai Museum, where it remains a defining expression of Yongzheng-period Famille Rose porcelain. This reproduction follows the proportions and decorative language of the 18th-century original, preserving the character of Yongzheng court porcelain.

Among Qing dynasty famille rose vases, the peach-and-bat composition is a classic decorative program in Chinese porcelain. Eight ripe peaches hang heavily from twisting branches, while two red bats move quietly through the composition. Together, they form the classic Chinese visual rebus for Fu Shou — fortune and longevity. Rather than repeating a fixed pattern, each peach occupies a different angle along the surface, creating the impression of a living branch bending under the weight of the fruit. Blossoms emerge between the branches, softening the visual weight and carrying the narrative naturally across the porcelain.

The decoration is executed using the Famille Rose (粉彩) technique, refined to exceptional levels during the Qing dynasty. Handcrafted in Jingdezhen, layers of enamel are applied over a high-fired porcelain body before a controlled second firing fixes the colors permanently into the surface.
