Xiao Ying is a rounded Yixing form with a sense of contained movement. The full body rises into a close-fitting lid, while the handle and spout sweep outward from opposite sides without interrupting the central volume.

This 245 ml teapot is made in pear-skin Da Hong Pao clay, named for the fine granular texture visible across its warm red surface. That texture rewards close handling: light gathers differently across the body, lid and shoulder rather than reading as a flat uniform color.

The teapot uses clay reserved since the 1970s. Its generous capacity makes it a practical shared pot, while the rounded profile offers a softer alternative to the angular Shipiao and compressed Xu Bian forms.

The body is left unglazed and undecorated so that red Yixing clay carries the visual character. Proportion, mineral texture and the relationship between spout, handle and lid remain the focus.
