Fanggu is recognized by tension rather than ornament. Its broad body is pressed low through the center, then gathered into a fitted lid so that shoulder, rim and foot read as one continuous, drum-like volume.

Dai Chenguang's 275 ml interpretation leaves that structure exposed in unglazed zini. The compact lid, decisive spout and curved handle counterbalance the width of the body, giving the pot presence without making it cumbersome at a shared tea table.

Dai Chenguang made the teapot from Huanglongshan zini reserved since the 1970s. Fine granular variation remains visible across the unglazed surface, giving the broad form tactile depth and connecting present-day making to a long-held material resource.

Where a taller form leads the eye upward, Fanggu holds the tea table horizontally. Its architectural weight gives a small shared session a low, composed center without relying on carved ornament.
