This Ksitigarbha is distilled into three elements: the seated monastic figure, the white robe, and a flame-shaped jewel held close to the body. The uncluttered 22 cm composition gives the face, hands, and continuous robe line a notably inward presence.
Ksitigarbha is often identified by a monk's staff and a wish-granting jewel. Here, the staff has been omitted while the jewel remains, concentrating attention on the hands and the quiet downward movement of the robe. The result is iconographically legible without becoming elaborate.
Ksitigarbha is revered for the vow to remain with beings in the darkest states of suffering. Devotees turn to him in remembrance of the departed, for protection through difficult transitions and for the strength to uphold responsibility toward family. The flaming jewel concentrates that meaning into one symbol: compassionate wisdom carried where ordinary light cannot reach.
This is the most inward Ksitigarbha in the group. The face, hands, and jewel remain free of competing attributes, while the rounded head, shoulder line, and continuous robe folds change gradually with the light. For a personal altar, memorial space, or quiet shelf, that concentration gives remembrance and steadfast resolve a focused daily presence.
