Dehua Porcelain Lotus and Lily Pad Incense Holder

A white, blush pink or crimson lotus opens above a green lily pad, turning a practical incense holder into a compact pond composition. The central aperture takes one slender stick, while the broad leaf below gives falling ash somewhere considered to land.

The design works because the two surfaces are different. The flower is built from crisp overlapping petals; the lily pad is flatter, darker and marked with radiating veins. When smoke rises through the bloom, the composition recalls mist lifting from water without relying on decorative excess.
