Jingdezhen 'Courtyard in Bloom' Eight-Piece Porcelain Place Setting

A dinner plate does not usually begin with clipped corners. Here, the faceted outline gives the setting its structure, while deep navy borders and blush-pink fields keep the floral pattern composed rather than overly sweet.

Named Courtyard in Bloom, the pattern is arranged differently across the eight pieces. Small birds cross open areas of white porcelain; flowers gather along rims, bands, and the pink central field. The pieces belong together without repeating one image at the same scale.

The setting is built for one: two plates for the main course and side dishes, a rice bowl, cup, condiment dish, rectangular napkin tray, porcelain spoon, and chopstick rest. It gives a single place at the table the finish of a complete service without unnecessary bulk.

Made in Jingdezhen from high-fired white porcelain, each piece is fired at 1320 degrees C / 2408 degrees F. The flower-and-bird imagery is set within the glaze, finished with non-metallic gold-colored lines along selected rims and borders.
