Jingdezhen Yingqing Begonia Bail-Handle Teapot Set

This six-piece Jingdezhen tea set includes a bail-handle teapot, a fairness pitcher (gongdao cup), and four tasting cups. Crafted from Jingdezhen high-white porcelain clay and finished in a pale blue-green Yingqing (also known as Qingbai or shadow celadon) glaze, the porcelain is high-fired above 1280°C to achieve a dense, vitrified surface.

The teapot features an arched bail handle and is sculpted with vertical ribbed lines referencing the lobed form of a begonia flower. Through a semi-handmade process, each piece undergoes manual trimming, and the vertical begonia ribs are hand-carved before glazing. This helps create crisp structural lines where the translucent shadow celadon glaze settles softly to highlight the physical depth of the carvings.

Designed for a complete multi-person tea service, the 200ml (6.8 fl oz) teapot incorporates a built-in ceramic filter at the spout and a vented lid to regulate pouring pressure. The high-fired, non-porous glaze is highly durable, easy to clean, and suitable for daily tea use across various tea profiles, helping to reduce scent retention.
