A mountain-and-water scene travels across the low wall of this 200 ml Shipiao teapot. The broad zini body gives the carving enough horizontal space to read as a miniature scroll, while the short spout, wide base and bridge finial keep the vessel unmistakably functional.

Landscape and Yixing clay meet through the literati tradition: a teapot could carry the same brush-minded subjects found in painting, calligraphy and scholars' objects. Here, the image is cut directly into the unfired clay, so line and earthen surface remain one material.

The landscape reveals itself as the pot turns during brewing, offering narrative rather than botanical symbolism. The solo pot keeps the tea table spare; the photographed set carries the same clay and carved scene into a coordinated service.
