Dehua Hand-Modeled Pink Peony Relief Porcelain Vase
▪ BESPOKE ARCHIVAL PACKAGING WITH EVERY ACQUISITION
Three pink peonies form the center of this pear-shaped vase, supported by pale green leaves and a brown branch that rises from the lower body. The flowers are not painted onto the surface. Each petal is shaped and joined into a raised composition before firing, giving the piece a pronounced front and a quiet, undecorated back.
The design is named Hua Kai Fu Gui, usually understood as "blossoming prosperity." The wish is expressed visually as buds open into full blooms and the branch moves upward. The softer pink palette keeps the relief gracious and easy to place while preserving the auspicious meaning of peony in full flower.
Each petal is shaped before firing, so the flower projects from the porcelain and changes with side light. Offered in three sizes with a fitted black stand, the vase can serve as a compact cabinet piece or a larger celebration of flourishing life for a console, new home, or wedding gift.
